Here’s How to Get Glowing Skin

Did you know you can achieve clear, radiant skin all year long? Follow these tips to boost your skincare routine and make a lasting impression.

Exfoliate

Your skin sheds about 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells every minute. When done correctly, exfoliation can help aid in this process. There are two types of exfoliation: physical exfoliators like scrubs and brushes, and chemical exfoliators like alpha hydroxy acids. Choose an exfoliant that’s right for your skin type and don’t exfoliate more than is necessary. Your dermatologist can help you choose the best exfoliators for your skin.

Moisturize

Without proper hydration, skin can appear dull. Moisturize regularly to prevent and treat dry skin and develop a glowing complexion. Try moisturizing just after showering and washing your face, as damp skin actually absorbs moisture better.

Protect

Wear sunscreen every day, even in cold weather months, to reduce your skin cancer risk and protect against premature aging. Your sunscreen should be water-resistant, have an SPF of 30 or above, and provide broad spectrum protection. Consider wearing sunglasses or a hat to better protect your skin from sun damage. Also, stay in the shade in the early afternoon, when harmful UV rays are the strongest.

Practice

While you don’t need to buy a million products to have beautiful skin, you do need a solid skincare routine if you want your skin to love you. If you’re new to building a routine, start with the basics: cleanse and apply sunscreen in the morning, then cleanse and moisturize at night. Choose products designed for your skin type and stick to this routine: consistency is key!
