12 Days of Fitness: Day 1
The winter season can be one of the most exciting times of the year—a chance to reconnect with loved ones, enjoy great food, and celebrate the season. But this time of year is also prime time to neglect your healthy habits in favor of that second helping of grandma’s sweet potatoes.
That’s where the twelve days of fitness challenge comes in. Now, this is not to discourage you from working out more than twelve days during the course of the season. By all means, maintaining a regular fitness routine, amidst the chaos and often inclement winter weather, is essential for your physical and mental health. But if you need a little encouragement to stay active, these twelve easy workouts are a great place to start!
DAY 1: A Quick HIIT
HIIT (or high-intensity interval training) has become a popular way to quickly burn fat and get your metabolism in motion. It is based on the notion that small, intense workouts are more effective at bringing results.
Do each exercise for 30 seconds, with a 30-second break between each. Repeat the circuit 3x.
