Alternatives to Soda That Will Curb Your Craving

These days, mindless snacking seems to be more a part of daily life than ever before, and with it, reaching for unhealthy drinks as well. If you find yourself grabbing a can of soda more than usual, try swapping it for one of these substitutes.

Coffee

The most obvious answer is coffee. Another caffeine-packed drink, coffee (in moderation) is a much better alternative to sugary sodas. Just be sure not to negate this healthy substitution by adding in too much creamer or sugar.

Sparkling water

Not all sparkling water is created equal, but once you find the one you like, you may not even remember why you were drinking soda in the first place! The carbonation in sparkling water makes this choice the most similar to soda, without the loaded sugar.

Lemonade

Freshly squeezed, of course! Keeping homemade lemonade in the fridge will give you that refreshing, tart sip that will curb your craving for your go-to soda beverage.

Kombucha

Not only does kombucha have much less sugar than soda, but it’s instead filled with gut-happy probiotics. It can also give you a boost of energy that your afternoon may need.

Iced tea

If kombucha isn’t your thing but you still want the flavor of tea, try making homemade iced tea. With summer right around the corner, a pitcher of iced tea in the fridge is just what the doctor ordered.
