Vegan Sloppy Joes

Lentils and seitan are used in place of beef in this vegan twist on sloppy joes.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Ingredients: For the toppings

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepot, heat oil over medium-high heat. Saute onions, garlic, and peppers for 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in lentils, seitan, salt, chili, cumin, paprika, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and hot sauce. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Serve sloppy joes on hamburger buns with vegan cheese, onion, and pickles.

Tips: This recipe is also great for sliders or for a tasty topping for vegan hot dogs!
