Find Your Swolemate

Having trouble staying on track with your fitness goals? Maybe it’s time to find your swolemate and fall in love with fitness–together!

What exactly is a swolemate?

This relatively new term simply means gym buddy. Though its name emphasizes a bit of a partnership, this doesn’t necessarily mean your gym buddy has to be your significant other–this can simply mean a close friend who has similar fitness goals and interests as you do.

Benefits:

Encourages consistency

You push yourself a lot harder when you have someone cheering you on and working to achieve similar goals as you. If you struggle to push yourself further each workout, a swolemate may be just what you need for a boost of motivation.

Socialize

If dragging yourself out of bed to run is not enough incentive to get up and moving, maybe knowing you will be able to talk and hang out with a friend will be the extra push you need to start your day. That way, you can look forward to the social aspect of exercising rather than focusing on the rigorous workout that lies ahead.

Friendly competition

If you are a competitive person, maybe working out alone doesn’t have you working out to your full potential. Working out with a friend and eliciting some friendly competition may have you willing to run a little longer, lift a little heavier, and stretch a little further.

Switch up your workout routine

Working out together broadens the activities you can partake in. You can get your fitness on together and add more variety to your routine to keep you interested in every workout.

Find your heart and ‘swole’ this season and begin your search for the perfect fitness partner!
