What you have on your work desk can make or break your productivity levels throughout the day. If your phone is an inch away from your computer, you’re going to be continually reaching for it. And if you don’t have a to-do list next to you, you may be forgetting little tasks that need to be finished by the end of the day. These desk must-haves are sure to have you feeling your most productive self throughout the workday.

A reusable water bottle

It’s important to stay hydrated, even when you’re not being active. Sitting at a desk all day may not be the most physically demanding activity, but drinking water throughout the day is crucial. Invest in a good quality reusable water bottle so you be hydrated during the 8-hour workday.

A coffee mug

Even if you don’t drink coffee (or tea), a coffee mug has various purposes. It can hold pens, highlighters, and other trinkets that need to be readily available. Buy one that screams you and keep on your desk for either storage or sippin’.

A salt lamp

Himalayan salt lamps are all the rage right now. If you’re unsure as to why, they’re known to create a healthier space and improve your mood—something that could greatly come in handy when the going gets tough. Although there’s no major research done yet, people swear by salt lamps on their desk to get them through the day.

Headphones

For when you need to shut out the world and get work done, headphones are a necessity. You can invest in noise canceling ones or cheap ones found at your local convenience store, but either way, having headphones at the ready can truly make the difference in whether or not you have a productive day.

Succulents

Liven up your space with some glass terrariums! Their known as low maintenance plants, so you don’t have to care for them too diligently. Your desk will instantly be the one people admire as they walk by with these lively plants on display.
